Portable butane and propane camp stoves are labelled by their manufacturers for outdoor use, so anyone cooking on one needs a stable, heat-tolerant surface outside the van, plus somewhere to sit that doesn't eat the storage. Camp tables and chairs are judged on four things: working height, surface material, packed size against your van's storage, and how they behave on uneven ground.
— BuyingWhat to Look For
Choose the table around your stove. An aluminium top that the maker markets for stoves is the safer surface for a hot burner; fabric and plastic tops are for plates and drinks. Then check the folded size against a real slot in the van, the load rating against what you'll put on it (a full water jug usually belongs on the ground), and the height against how you cook. For chairs, decide between packed size and seat height before anything else. No table or chair makes an outdoor-only stove acceptable inside a vehicle.
— MethodHow We Evaluate
We don't set up or sit in these products ourselves. We compare manufacturer-published dimensions set up and packed, weight, load ratings, surface materials and the maker's exact wording about stoves and heat, and check them against the Amazon listing we link to. Where sources disagree, we say so.
